Hello Scoutmaster, welcome to the boards.

As for U.K. not caring, I think quite a few people do, in their own way, they just don't have an outlet to share their experiences.

That's where we, and yourself (with your commitment to scouting) comes in.

We're just a bunch of people helping and living with each other, wow, isn't that what we used to call a community?

I'll get off my hippy soapbox before you all give me a bath and haircut...

Welcome.

Welcome to our own little corner of cyberinsanity SM. I'm one of the other yanks on the group.

Do ya practice the modern version of Scouting or are ya one of the more traditional ones?

One of my online friends recently republished the 1925 Masters-at-Arms Manual

http://www.lulu.com/product/paperbac...-badge/3153176

Hard copy will cost ya. But he doesn't charge anything for the electronic download.

Default Wow, fanstastic response everyone!

Hi to everyone!
what a fantastic response! I feel very warmly welcomed. just a bit more about me, living on the devon / dorset border not far from the river Axe. the idea of a meet up sounds good. how about some sort of weekend camp type thing? to exchange skills / bbq etc

If we have an informal south west group set-up(UK), count me in. the more we can prepare for potential collapse the better. btw have any of you seen mike ruppert's film "COLLAPSE" ? I would highly recommend it if you have not. he also has a great site : collapsenet.net too, rice-famer's blob is a great place for collapse info too

( I have purposely NOT pasted links, so no one thinks I'm just here to advertise stuff. )

Once again, thanks for the welcome, glad to be on board!

keep an eye on the exit,

regards,

scoutmaster

I practice the only kind of scouting the traditional kind! none of this modern Politically correct type. all outdoor, using tools, learning skills, lighting fires with out matches or lighters, building temporary shelters, navigating without maps or compasses, building camp furniture, tracking animals, cooking over an open smoke less fire & more.

my organization is called Baden Powell Scouts (very traditional) (I will not post links, i am not here to advertise, don't want folk to get the wrong idea)

keep an eye on the exits,

regards,

scoutmaster

I'll start a separate thread for a South West meet if that's ok with the Moderators?
